I was born and raised on a family ranch near Dalhart and have lived in Amarillo for 28 years. My 28 years at Amarillo Gear has given me many opportunities, including exposure to many parts of the world, in all its diversity. This has helped me better understand the many needs that are prevalent right here in our backyard. What a true privilege and honor it is to be associated with the Lord’s work being performed through Heal the City, its staff and many volunteers in helping so many with health needs in our community.

DR. SHARI MEDFORD

Board Member

For 17 years I have been in private pediatric practice at Amarillo Children's Clinic. I have been blessed to serve impoverished children in third world countries on short mission trips over the past 10 years. This was a very rewarding experience for me. I was very excited to when given the opportunity to serve children in our local area that have limited access to medical care. I passionate about the children, and I feel Heal the City meets a need that was previously not filled in the community.

MANNY DE LOS SANTOS

Board Member

Pastor Manny and Raquel DeLosSantos planted Power Church in 2012 with less than twenty members. His vision is to build a church with a passion for breaking down the walls of racism, crossing cultural lines, and changing poverty mindsets in the community. In doing so, Power Church has become a model for successful community impact, as well as how to create strategic partnerships with corporate, government, and non-profit organizations in order to develop innovative ways to improve quality of life for its members and the surrounding community. In 2015 Manny launched Amarillo Barrio Community Development with the expectation to alleviate poverty in Amarillo's Barrio neighborhood. They pursue this mission by offering GED classes, addiction recovery groups, student mentorships, Barrio Arts Academy, and other programs designed to empower and equip community members.
